Civil Engineering: 
Established in 1971, the Civil Engineering Department focuses on producing skilled professionals in civil engineering through its 4-year Bachelor of Technology program. Civil engineering offers vast career opportunities both in India and abroad, spanning across public and private sectors. The department achieved a significant milestone in 1994 by becoming a Research Centre. With over 250 papers published in reputed journals and conferences, it actively conducts workshops, faculty development programs, site visits, project tours, and initiatives like 'Sameeksha' for student development.

Mechanical Engineering:

Established in 1962, the Mechanical Engineering Department initially had an intake of 60 students. Over the past 52 years, it has expanded its capacity to accommodate 180 students with 47 teaching staff. Offering both undergraduate and master's programs, including Manufacturing Science & Engineering and Computer Integrated Manufacturing, the department has faculty members who have contributed to numerous international and national journals, patents, and books. Additionally, it has undertaken several projects funded by organizations like DRDO, AICTE, and VTU.

Electrical & Electronics Engineering:

Founded in 1962, the Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department started with a bachelor's program and later introduced a master's program in Computer Applications in 2004. Accredited by the NBA for five years from July 2015, it has also achieved the status of a Research Centre, producing six doctorates in the past decade. Engaging students in R&D activities, the department focuses on areas such as Power System & Renewable Energy Sources, High Voltage Engineering, and Power Electronics.

Electronics & Communication Engineering:

Established in 1975, the Electronics & Communication Engineering branch has grown significantly in terms of recognition and infrastructure. It offers a Bachelor of Engineering degree with an intake of 120 candidates and master's programs in Electronics & Communication and VLSI Design & Embedded System with openings for 30 and 18 students respectively.

Computer Science & Engineering:

Founded in 1984, the Computer Science & Engineering department is among the pioneers in introducing CSE curriculum in Karnataka. It has received project funds from organizations like AICTE and BRNS for research. The postgraduate program started in 1999, with well-trained faculty members.

Chemical Engineering:

The first self-financing engineering college in Bangalore to offer Chemical Engineering since 1978, this branch has been consecutively decorated by the National Board for Accreditation. It holds ISO 9001:2000 accreditation with an A grade by NAAC. With over 1900 graduates securing university ranks, it provides excellent infrastructure for internships and innovative projects.

Industrial Engineering & Management:

Originally established as Industrial & Production Engineering in 1979, this department became an independent entity in 1984 and was renamed Industrial Engineering & Management in 1992. It focuses on quality control, work system design, operations planning and control, and supply chain management.

Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering:

Established in 1992, this department was previously known as the Department of Instrumentation Technology. It aims to prepare students for the industry by focusing on sensor technology, industrial automation, and embedded systems.

Information Science & Engineering:

Founded in 1992, this department trains students to become highly skilled professionals in information science & engineering. Initially offering undergraduate courses with an intake of 30 candidates annually, it has since expanded to accommodate nearly 120 students. The department is also involved in research and development activities.

Telecommunication Engineering:

Established in 1996, the Telecommunication Engineering department aims to meet the demand for networking technology professionals in India. It boasts state-of-the-art laboratories and dedicated faculty members with extensive academic and industry experience. Partnerships with organizations like CDAC, CDOT, DRDO, ISRO, and ERNET enable the department to conduct R&D projects, preparing undergraduate students for the workforce.

Medical Electronics:

Recognized in 1996, the Medical Electronics department focuses on equipping students with skills in emerging healthcare technologies. Research areas include bio-signal processing, Neural Network Based Sensors, and fetal monitoring systems.

​

Biotechnology:

Introduced in 2002, the Biotechnology branch offers both undergraduate and master's programs. With an intake of 60 undergraduate students and 18 master's students, the department comprises 15 faculty members, 10 of whom hold PhDs.
