In the postgraduate stream, there are three disciplines under Master of Technology (MTech), in addition to management and Ph.D. programs. BNMIT courses are designed with specific specializations under each department. Some of the salient features of the departments are as follows:

Computer Science and Engineering: Established in 2001, this department has introduced benchmark events such as the Innovative Project Lab, Self-Learning Lab, and Research Initiative Lab alongside academic endeavors. The department also conducts the T5 program to enhance students' soft skills and boost their confidence. Additionally, student chapters in organizations like the Computer Society of India, Institute of Engineers, and Indian Society for Technical Education facilitate maximum exposure to the outside world.

Electronics and Communication Engineering: Initiated in 2001, this program equips students with a strong scientific and technical foundation along with research capabilities. Workshops, seminars, and invited talks are regularly organized to update both students and staff. Students engage in innovative projects, internships in industries, and academic projects in reputed organizations.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering: Commencing in 2002, this department boasts various professional society memberships and an in-house association to foster developments in the field. Student chapters in organizations like the Institute of Engineers and the Indian Society for Technical Education promote maximum exposure. The department also publishes MINCHU, a biannual newsletter showcasing departmental achievements.

Information Science and Engineering: Established in 2001, this course attracts individuals interested in developing analytical, mathematical, managerial, communication, creative problem-solving, and technical competencies. Regular skill development programs, workshops, technical talks, and industry visits keep students abreast of technology.

Mechanical Engineering: Introduced in 2011, this department offers diverse career options in a stable, stimulating, and challenging environment. Regular industrial visits and guest lectures by experts enhance learning and expose students to the latest developments in the field.
