Admission to RV Engineering College adheres to the norms set by the Government of Karnataka. For Karnataka students, selection is based on their performance in the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) administered by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). Non-Karnataka students, on the other hand, are evaluated based on their COMED-K scores. The admission process allocates 45% of seats through CET, 30% through COMED-K, and 25% through the management quota, all based on merit. CET is open to students domiciled in Karnataka for seven years or more, while both Karnataka and non-Karnataka students are eligible to take the COMED-K entrance exam.
For undergraduate programs, admission to RV College of Engineering relies on students' performance in entrance tests such as KCET, JEE Mains, COMED-K, and the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination. Meanwhile, admission to M.Tech and MBA programs considers scores from the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET). 80% of seats are reserved for GATE and PGCET examinees, with the remaining 20% reserved for the management quota.
